Let me guess…
You often find yourself feeling stuck between two worlds. You feel you are either too much or not enough.
You’re realizing being a first-gen is overwhelming:
You feel anxious, sad or depressed
You feel like an imposter whether at work or school
You often feel “not at home” or like an outsider
You feel misunderstood by others which may lead to shame
You are worth investing in.
As an immigrant born in El Salvador but raised in the US, I intimately grasp the complexities of being a first-gen woman. Your journey is special, and I'm committed to honoring it with the utmost care and respect.
I understand the difficulties that first-generation individuals face, balancing family expectations, personal growth, cultural divides, and the struggle to find your place in the world can be immense. Therapy provides a safe space to unpack the unique experiences and pressures faced by first-gen individuals. It offers an opportunity to explore and reconcile cultural differences, family dynamics, imposter syndrome, and the stress of navigating academia or the professional world without the same support systems as your peers. Through therapy, you can overcome self-doubt, embrace your identity, and build resilience.
My goal is to support first-gen on their journey to self-discovery and empowerment. You deserve to prioritize your mental health and break free from the burdens that have been carried for too long. You are not alone, and your well-being matters.

For many minorities, mental health has historically been disregarded due to the impact of the stigma that follows. I provide a safe space for you to feel comfortable expressing yourself in ways you may never have had the privilege to. My approach is to remind you that you’re not alone, help is available, and your mental health significantly contributes to overall wellness.

In nearly every case, therapy is strictly confidential. Your therapist is obligated to uphold confidentiality regarding all discussions that occur during your sessions, much like a doctor is obligated to safeguard your medical records. Alongside legal protections for your privacy, confidentiality is a fundamental component of the ethical code in psychology. From the outset, your therapist recognizes that for you to feel at ease sharing openly, it's crucial for you to have confidence in the security of your information.
